How are you doing? Trust your week is going well. Today’s post was written by a ‘newbie’. I was totally impressed when I read this post because a lot of things she said apart frm being true will inspire you. Funny thing is my Pastor spoke on something like this in his prosperity series on sunday. Ok, before i bore you…..enjoy.
I’ve heard people say “Have dreams; make sure they are big ones, the mind is powerful and whatever you can conceive, you can achieve it”.
I have a dream and it is a HUGE one. My dream is to become SUPERWOMAN! I want to wear a cape and fly, have super vision, strength and then go on to save all mankind. My mind has conceived, now the achieving part….
The truth is dreams are supposed to be practical; things that are actually achievable. If it is something that eventually does not work out, you have to have a backup plan, something else you can venture into that can lead you to success. All these I have read in motivational books which I probably misunderstood or didn’t get the writers’ point of view. This though has brought me to the conclusion that motivational books are not for me.
What exactly is the motivation? When someone tells you to dream and at the same time tells you make them practical, or tells you to have something different apart from what you initially wanted to do in case your dream does not work out. What I think motivational books equate dreams to be is being able to become successful and wealthy no matter what it is you end up doing. I really do not blame anyone because the mentality today for people is just all about making money, and I really do not blame them too because the state of the economy demands this. It is a vicious cycle. No one is passionate about something anymore; no one seeks satisfaction or fulfillment above wealth, success and fame. Like I said, I really do not blame anyone.
Back to my dream of being ‘superwoman’. This is something that literally keeps me awake at night; it is something that would definitely affect my family, friends and my peace of mind because sleep is very important. It feels like a burden. It consumes my every waking thought and it is the last thing I think of before going to bed. I have tried but I really cannot ignore it, so what do I do?
Being ‘superwoman’ is not practical. I am a graduate already, I really should not be thinking of just that, I should get a backup plan or something, in other words settle for something less than the super hero I want to be. Plus seriously, how do I get super vision, strength and speed? Most importantly how in God’s name would I fly? I have a plan though. I would get really good binoculars to help me see far, I will pay a construction company in case I need to lift heavy objects, I’ll buy a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 for travelling by land and an SR-71 Blackbird which would solve the flying part. Nice huh? I have actually figured everything out, but where do I get the money from?
That, my friends, is where the God factor comes in. God has placed it in my heart to be ‘superwoman’. What is the ultimate purpose for a Christian if not service to God and mankind? He has given me an excellent mind and spirit so why won’t I go ahead to be ‘superwoman’? How do you think I came up with the solutions to getting all my super powers? The question now is how I would face all the other challenges?
• Would I stay focused?
• Would I bend under the expectations of family and friends?
• Would I let circumstances derail me?
I’ve already had the revelation on how to get the money to buy my gadgets but it may or may not take a long time. If it does though, can I persevere?
When God lays something in our hearts it is never simple. Telling people about it might bring them to the conclusion that you belong in a mental institution. This is where faith comes into play. Believing beyond doubt that He is able to help you accomplish what He has set you out to do. In other words, dream; make it big. Throw practicality out the window and have faith instead. How else would the mountain move when you ask it to? Or how did the fig tree obey? Practicality has no play in God’s kingdom. Having a backup plan is derailing from what He has asked you to do already because God is very specific and He will want a specific response from you.
So dream big, no matter how impractical it may seem to the world’s standards, have faith, persevere and see a miracle happen that’ll make practical men marvel, and then watch all other things be added to you.
So what is my dream again? Oh yes, I want to be ‘superwoman’. I can be superwoman, I am Superwoman. SUWEFAINFUJO 7.
